Sevens: what to know before playing

Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. The game area remains available above the explanation. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Bring this focus to a round

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

What counts as success

Read the position before choosing your next action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

Work through the instructions

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

How to use the controls

Read the position before choosing your next action. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

One way to understand the rules

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

One detail worth checking

Take a moment to check the current turn. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.
